Aside from our standard business sessions and workshops, we will also elect the comptroller and the top two candidates who will be placed on the official ballot for general president. We are counting on you to come prepared and to work together as one brotherhood. The 2015 General Convention will take place in Charlotte, NC, August 5–9, 2015.

Brothers March on the Capitol

#BrothersForLorettaLynch will assemble at 8:45 am EST tomorrow, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 400 N. Capitol NW, Washington, DC. The march to the U.S. Capitol will begin at 10:00 am. This is to coincide with the 9:00–10:00 am NewsOneNow with Roland Martin on TV. We will try to meet with each senator in the GOP leadership, in addition to Senators Tim Scott and Cory Booker. Together, we will get the word out that swift confirmation of Loretta Lynch is the fair and just thing to do for this nation.

Saying Farewell to Bro. Senator Brooke

Brother Senator Edward W. Brooke was laid to rest on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at the Arlington National Cemetery. There was a national Omega Service performed for him on Monday, March 9, 2015, at the historic Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel on the campus of his alma mater, Howard University. It is because of brothers like Senator Brooke that we are indeed the college of friendship and the school for the better making of men. 2015 Alpha Leadership Academy Application

In the spirit of brotherhood, Alpha Phi Alpha Education Foundation announces the eighteenth annual Alpha Leadership Academy for College Brothers, which is scheduled for June 6–12, 2015, at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

The purpose of the academy is to provide a thorough, intense experience for young men who have been elected to some leadership role at the various levels of our fraternity. What makes this program unique is the student development foundation on which it is based. Several student development theories will be used as the theoretical framework within which this academy will operate. Such theories include the Student Wellness Model for holistic development,

Brother Levi Watkins Jr. Enters Omega

On Saturday, April 11th, we had the unfortunate passing of a pioneer, civil rights leader, surgeon, friend and a great Alpha Man, Brother Levi Watkins, Jr. Locally, nationally, and internationally, Brother Watkins inspired many, saved the lives of thousands, and left this world a far better place. Farewell, dear brother. 

Brother William Shields Enters Omega

Brother Shields, a December 4, 1955, initiate of the Gamma Eta Chapter was life member #1937. He was a member of Gamma Rho Lambda Chapter for more than fifty (50) years. He was a leader in the realm of public education and literacy, and he will be sorely missed by many whose lives he has touched over the years. Our hearts go out to the family of Brother Shields as well as the brothers of Gamma Eta and Gamma Rho Lambda chapters.
