Alpha Phi Alpha is the exclusive owner of its trademarks. To safeguard the appropriate use of our federally registered trademarks and to guarantee quality products, Alpha Phi Alpha is one of many Greek organizations that has entered into a trademark licensing agreement with LRG. All commercial use of Alpha Phi Alpha’s trademarks must be administered through a licensing agreement with Alpha Phi Alpha.
We encourage members and Friends of Alpha Phi Alpha to support the Fraternity and buy exclusively from officially licensed vendors. All licensed vendors are screened for high-quality products and good customer service.
In addition, Alpha Phi Alpha will be reintroducing its own online store, The Alpha Shop, at TheAlphaShop.com. All proceeds from this online store go directly into the Fraternity’s operating budget, which allows the Administrative Office to service our chapters and undergraduate members.

Would you like to become and official Alpha Phi Alpha vendor?

Start Application Process
Are there any advances or minimums?
Potential new licensees must pay a one-time $150 application fee. Licensees pay a $500 advance royalty and an annual $80 administrative fee upon renewal. However, if you are currently licensed with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and you complete LRG’s licensing transition prior to March 31, LRG will waive both the initial $150 application fee plus your 2017 $80 admin fee.
Are only wholesale vendors required to obtain an Alpha Phi Alpha license?
All vendors are required to register and pay the annual $500 fee. For vendors who are NOT wholesale vendors, this means the $500 fee is the only annual fee you will be paying. This will reflect a $100–$250 reduction in fees from previous years.
What is the expected response time for submitted designs?
All designs submitted will be approved within 24–48 hrs after submission for those submitted Sunday–Thursday (excluding holidays). For designs submitted on Friday, approval may be received on the following Monday or Tuesday.
Can reports be uploaded via CSV?
Yes. Details of proper fields can be found in the LRG back end.
What file types are accepted for artwork being submitted?
Our system accepts several types of artwork: JPG, PNG, PDF and Vector
Does information submitted for royalties need to be itemized or can it be provided by category?
Category. Example: If five different hat types are being sold, you can include all under headgear (versus each individual type) in your report.
Is the $150.00 application fee annual?
No. The $150 is a one-time application fee. This fee has been waived for vendors who were licensed during the 2017 year as long as those vendors complete the licensing process with LRG prior to 3/31/2017.
If I have product in the old inventory that has the previous version of the fraternal design, do I have to discard all product?
We are allowing all vendors who have items with the previous version of the fraternal design (see below) to sell all remaining inventory through January 21, 2018. Please call Bryan Kelly (443.923.3114) at the Corporate Office with additional questions.
What is the difference between wholesalers, factory, and retailers?
Wholesalers: A company that produces mass product and sells inventory to other vendors or individuals. These are required to pay: *$150 application fee, $500 advance royalty fee, and 10%.
Factory: A company that produces a product for mass sale.
Retailers: A company that sells products purchased from a wholesaler. These are required to pay: *$150 application fee and a $500 annual fee.
